Jufeng, the highest peak of the Laoshan Mountain.

Jufeng, commonly known as "Top of Laoshan Mountain", 1,133 m above the sea level, is the highest peak along the 18,000 km coastal line of the main land of China. The peak dominates the sea and embraces the panorama. At 800-900 m above the sea encircling Jufeng, there is a tourist ring road. Tourists can overlook the sea and the horizon in most sections of this road. The eight gates on the ring road named from the eight diagrams of the Book of Changes and corresponding to the eight passes around are a wonderful combination between the great creatures of the nature and the thoughts of ancient sages. Jufeng of Laoshan Mountain is the best choice for climbing high and looking far, strengthening physical fitness and praying for peace.

Transport:

You can drive off the Qingdao-Yinchuan Expressway from the exit of Qingdao East, go in the direction of Shazikou till the Laoshan Mountain Tourist Service Center, then take the sightseeing bus to get into the scenic area;

You can take No.113 or No.304 bus to the Laoshan Mountain Tourist Service Center, then take the sightseeing bus to get into the scenic area.

Tourist route:

You must take sightseeing bus to get into Jufeng Scenic Spot. All private cars shall be parked on the parking lot of the Laoshan Mountain Tourist Service Center. The mountain road is 8km long with a lot of cultural sculptures at both sides. It takes 15 minutes to reach the entrance of the tourist route which is also the drop-off point of the ropeway, about 400m above the sea.

Getting off the sightseeing bus, you have two ways to go up the mountain: by ropeway or on foot. It takes more than ten minutes by ropeway but one hour on foot. In addition, the road becomes steep around the ruins of Tiewa Palace close to the pick-up point of the ropeway, so please watch out if you climb the mountain on foot.

After reaching the pick-up point of the ropeway (about 700m above the sea), you will enter the core tourist route of Jufeng Scenic Spot, the tourist ring road with the eight-diagram gates. Tourists may climb to the highest point of the ring road, "Lingqi Peak", directly along the right road. It takes about 40 minutes. Attention, the tourists who feel physically tired may return by the way you came.

As it takes a long time to finish the whole route of Jufeng, please arrange your travel reasonably. If you want to take the ropeway to go down, please pay attention to the service time of the ropeway. If you go up the mountain with aged people or children, please pay special attention to safety.
